WARNING Unlike ours, most off-the-shelf portable generators, especially the more expensive inverter type, bear a warning that states they are NOT intended or legal for use, as configured, to connect to your home’s electrical system. This is because the neutral and ground are bonded together for stand-alone operation and is not properly configured for connection to a home’s electrical system or standard transfer switch per the National Electric Code. Genconnex ® generators are designed and configured per NEC 702.11(B) for connection to your home as a non-separately derived system, and can be used if, configured properly, for stand-alone use.
